Lee
Lee Roy Selmon has a history that combines family scholarship football and volunteering for the community. The first line of his family was that his father was the youngest of nine kids raised in Eufala through Lucious Selmon. Two soccer. He is one of three brothers who played for Oklahoma. Three of them made All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards as well as Lombardi Awards. He was the top lineman for across the country. He won two championships and 32-1-1 in his three seasons as Oklahoma's starter. In 1975, he received the third scholarship of his career and was named an National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon obtained his degree in education. Lee Roy was involved in volunteer work ten hour per week throughout his college years. In Tampa the Buccaneers, he was a player for the Buccaneers for nine seasons before becoming an all-pro. Also, he began his career in the field of business. He was hired in 1988 as an Account Representative for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He also worked with the following groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. So it's not surprising that in 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy as one of America's 10 outstanding young males. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265 pounds during his time playing college football. In 1975, he was the captain of the group. In 1993, he was named as associate director at the University of South Florida. He has been inducted in the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. In 1989 The Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded their Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Sr. Henry Bellmon, the governor of Oklahoma gave it to them.
